Kanata falls to Carleton Place in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Carleton Place Canadians pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Kanata Stallions on a clutch goal by Luke Kasteel.

Carleton Place's penalty kill excelled, as the Canadians gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

In a losing effort, Kanata was led by Derian Plouffe, who registered two goals. Plouffe scored the first of his two goals at 9:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kanata. Reid Murphy provided the assist. Plouffe's next tally made the score 3-2 Kanata with 19:25 left in the third period. Joe Breslin assisted on the tally.

The Stallions were unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Carleton Place also got points from Stephen Bayliss, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Carleton Place also got a goal from Brock Edwards as well. More assists for Carleton Place came via Devin Campbell, who had two and Brandon Seatter, Anthony McVeigh, and Christian Weidauer, who each chipped in one.

Kanata's offense rang up 32 shots on Carleton Place's net.

Kanata additionally got points from Breslin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Kanata received assists from Brandon Petrie, who had two and C Blakely and Fabian Walsh, who contributed one a piece.

Justin Laforest made 29 saves for the Canadians on 32 shots. Carleton Place incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Brandon Lane rejected 38 shots on goal for the Stallions. Kanata incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
