Pembroke survives Kemptville comeback, wins 4-3

The Pembroke Lumber Kings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Kemptville 73s on the way to a 4-3 win.

Pembroke took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Kemptville storm back on a Stephen Cooney goal 12:43 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

In the losing effort, the 73s were led by Cooney, who grabbed two goals. Cooney scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 59 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Cooney's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Pembroke with 7:17 left in the third period. Joey House assisted on the tally.

The Lumber Kings were helped by Ben Dalpe, who racked up one goal. Dalpe scored 10:05 into the third period to make the score Pembroke. Stephen Hrehoriak picked up the assist. Emilio Audi also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Brian Hennessey, JJ Hart, Philippe Drouin, and Jordan Larson, who each chipped in one.

Pembroke was unable to stop Kemptville from sending pucks towards the net, and the 73s eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Kemptville additionally got points from House, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Blaine Byron, Lucas Gonu, and Matt Rosebrook, who contributed one a piece.

Andy Munroe made 32 saves for the Lumber Kings on 35 shots. Pembroke incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Billy Cooper recorded 25 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
