Hawkesbury falls to Nepean in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Dalen Hedges gave the Nepean Raiders a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks when he scored 39 seconds into the extra period.

Brent Norris was all over the ice for Nepean, as he registered two goals in the win. Norris found the back of the net on the power play 7:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Nepean and again while on the power play 11:36 into the third to make the score 3-3.

Hawkesbury's power play was ineffective against the Raiders' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Nepean's offense rang up 32 shots on the Hawks' net.

Nepean also got points from Hedges, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Tanner Williams also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Brandon Watt, who had two and Keenan Hodgson, Robert Skol, and Andrew DeBrincat, who each chipped in one.

Hawkesbury kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Mulder made 37 saves on 40 shots.

The Hawks were helped by Holden Anderson, who grabbed one goal. Anderson scored on the power play 13:28 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Hawkesbury had gotten the advantage when Nepean's Cameron Yarwood was sent off for spearing. Yanik Laliberte picked up the assist. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Laliberte, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Brett Costello as well. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Francis Landers, Carl Faucher, Brandon Bussey, and Anthony Sanniti, who contributed one a piece.

The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hawks' Carmine Guerriero stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Hawkesbury incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
