The St. Catharines Falcons relied on the sparkling performance of Brad Pope in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Brantford Golden Eagles. The win moved St. Catharines to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. The Falcons were sparked by Aaron Taylor, who registered one goal. Taylor scored 12:46 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. St. Catharines also got a goal from Riley Jakobschuk as well. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Broderick Kelly, Jimmy Sheehan, and Johnson Andrews, who each chipped in one. Brantford forced St. Catharines goalie Pope to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Golden Eagles were led by Trent Hawke, who scored the team's only goal. Hawke scored on the power play 3:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brantford had gained a power play chance when Jesse Miller was whistled for hooking. Dillan Walker provided the assist. Pope rejected 35 shots on goal for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Golden Eagles' Bryce O Hagan stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Brantford incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. |
