Bismarck boosted by Nelson's play in net, beats Austin 4-1

The Bismarck Bobcats relied on the sparkling performance of Aaron Nelson in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Austin Bruins.

The win by Bismarck clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

The Bobcats were sparked by Patrick Moore, who tallied one goal. Moore scored 1:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck. Tyler Richter assisted on the tally.

Austin was unable to stop Bismarck from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bobcats eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Bismarck additionally got points from Richter, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Buster Hebda also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Daniel Kovar, who had two and Jeremy OKeefe, Mike Dockry, and Shane Omdahl, who each chipped in one.

The Bruins were led by Chris Fischer, who scored the team's only goal. Fischer scored on the power play 8:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Austin. Austin had taken the advantage when Bismarck's Bryce Anderson got sent off for hooking. Brandon Wahlin picked up the assist.

The Bobcats' Nelson stopped 29 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Bismarck incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Bruggeman made 33 saves for the Bruins on 36 shots. Austin totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
