Bismarck falls to Austin in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Austin Bruins pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Bismarck Bobcats on a clutch goal by Joe Siers.

With the win, Austin evened the series at 1-1 in the best of five showdown.

The Bruins kept Bismarck's goalie busy throughout the game, and Aaron Nelson made 27 saves on 31 shots.

Austin was led by Brandon Wahlin, who racked up three goals. In addition, Austin received assists from Matt Hansen, who had two and Jeremy Finger, who had three.

The Bobcats were led by Shane Omdahl, who registered two goals. Omdahl scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 44 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck. Nelson picked up the assist. Omdahl's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Bismarck with 13:28 left in the second period. Adam Knochenmus assisted on the tally. Buster Hebda also scored for Bismarck. Other players who recorded assists for Bismarck were Danny Ray and Nicholas Miglio, who contributed one a piece.

Tyler Bruggeman recorded 24 saves for the Bruins. Austin incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Bismarck incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
