The Bismarck Bobcats and the St. Louis Bandits were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Bismarck made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Adam Knochenmus at 10:15 of the third period. In the losing effort, St. Louis was sparked by Joe Kalisz, who grabbed two goals. Kalisz scored the first of his two goals at 6:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis. Joseph Birmingham picked up the assist. Kalisz's next tally made the score 2-1 St. Louis with 2:06 left in the second period. Drew Slaton provided the assist. In a losing effort, the Bandits were led by Kalisz, who registered two goals. The Bobcats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Louis to score on any of its four power plays. Bismarck put 25 shots on net during the contest, more than the 20.5 it averages per game. Bismarck also got a goal from Donald Olivieri as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bismarck were Francis DeAugustine, who had two and Castan Sommer and Patrick Moore, who contributed one a piece. The Bandits relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Kalisz, Birmingham and Slaton took 14 of the team's 24 shots. More assists for St. Louis came via Cody Ganchar, who had one. The Bobcats' Tommy Burke stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Bismarck incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Spencer Viele recorded 22 saves for St. Louis. The Bandits incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
