Viele stymies Fairbanks, St. Louis wins 3-1

Spencer Viele stood on his head and made 32 saves to lead the St. Louis Bandits to a 3-1 victory over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

St. Louis was led by Joseph Birmingham, who registered one goal and one assist. Birmingham scored 3:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Louis. Joe Kalisz picked up the assist.

St. Louis additionally got points from Rance Hughes, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ryan Stouffer also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Josh Dangel, who had one.

The Bandits were unable to stop Fairbanks from sending pucks towards the net, and the Ice Dogs eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Fairbanks was led by Tayler Munson, who scored the team's only goal. Munson scored 35 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fairbanks. Rudy Sulmonde assisted on the tally.

St. Louis incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Ice Dogs' Alex Fons stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Fairbanks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
