Team Red vanquishes Team Blue in shootout, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Team Red defeated Team Blue in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout lasted for 10 attempts between the teams. Team Blue's shootout goal was scored by Rob Adam. Team Red's other shootout goal was scored by Jacob Hetz.

Team Red overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Team Red fell behind 3-0 after a power play goal by Team Blue's Conor Durgan at 15:18 in the second period. Team Red tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Luis Barrera at 16:20 in the third period.

Penalties took their toll on Team Red, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Team Red was helped by Matt Levene, who registered one goal. Levene scored 14:43 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Team Blue. Team Red also got a goal from Hetz as well. Other players who recorded assists for Team Red were Josh Bowes and Jake Pilewicz, who each chipped in one.

Team Blue kept Team Red's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tucker Murphy made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Team Blue was helped by JT Paine, who had one goal. Paine scored on the power play 2:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Team Blue. A boarding penalty on Barrera had put Team Blue on the power play. Chad Staley assisted on the tally. Mike Munoz also scored for Team Blue. In addition, Team Blue received assists from Kyle Latimer, Casey Prange, and Cameron Miglia, who contributed one a piece.

Team Red totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Connor Webb took the sol and made 18 saves before being replaced by Julian DiFilippo who made zero saves. Team Blue incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
