Gregg Gruehl recorded a shutout against the Topeka RoadRunners as the Amarillo Bulls picked up a 3-0 win. After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, Topeka faces elimination next time out. Amarillo was paced by Karl Beckman, who registered one goal and one assist. Beckman scored on the power play 8:00 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo. The Bulls had gained a power play chance when Luke Veitch was whistled for tripping. Brandon Lubin provided the assist. Amarillo forced the RoadRunners' goalies to work without much rest, ripping 42 shots and forcing 39 saves. Peter Traber made 39 stops and Collin LeMay made 0. The Bulls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Topeka power plays. Amarillo also got a goal from Brooks Behling as well. More assists for Amarillo came via Mike Erickson, Luke Jenkins, and Greg Gibson, who each chipped in one. Amarillo was unable to stop Topeka from sending pucks towards the net, and the RoadRunners eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Topeka was led by Richard Young, who took four shots. Gruehl recorded 33 saves for the Bulls. Amarillo incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. The RoadRunners ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major.
