The Nepean Raiders' Ben Hutton scored 6:23 into overtime to beat the Cornwall Colts, 3-2 (OT). Nepean evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven. The Raiders overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Nepean trailed 2-0 after a goal by Cornwall's Michael Borkowski at 6:24 in the first period. The Raiders tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Ryan MacLean at 17:04 in the third period. Nepean was led by Hutton, who finished with one goal. The Colts were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Nepean eventually piled up 58 shots on goal. Nepean also got a goal from Tanner Williams as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Craig Cowie and Kenneth Neil, who contributed one a piece and Mac Weegar and Brent Norris, who each chipped in two. Cornwall additionally got points from Stephen Johnson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Mark Rath, Kevin Hope, and Tyson Spink, who contributed one a piece. Matt Zawadzki rejected 20 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lukas Hafner recorded 55 saves for Cornwall. The Colts incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
