Michael Borkowski was all over the ice for the Cornwall Colts, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Cornwall's 5-1 win over the Nepean Raiders. Borkowski's tallies came on the power play at 3:55 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Cornwall and on the power play 9:08 into the second to make the score 3-0 Cornwall.The win by the Colts broke a deadlock and gave Cornwall a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. The Colts' Lukas Hafner was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Hafner will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.58. Nepean was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Cornwall was able to score four times while on the power play. The Colts forced Raiders' goalies to work all game long, taking 32 shots and forcing 27 saves. Matt Zawadzki made 17 stops and Dylan BrindAmour made 10. Cornwall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Cornwall also got points from Tylor Spink, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Tyson Spink, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Michael Phillips also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Trent Durocher, Mark Rath, and Kyle Baun, who each chipped in one. The Raiders' offense rang up 35 shots on the Colts' net. Nepean was led by Ryan Johnston, who scored the team's only goal. Johnston scored short handed 14:48 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cornwall. A fighting (aggressor) call on Michael Vered put the Raiders on the penalty kill. Brent Norris provided the assist. Cornwall incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Colts ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Viktors Korbs was ejected from the game. Nepean ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. For the Raiders, Vered was ejected from the game.
