Topeka downs Texas in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Topeka RoadRunners pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Texas Tornado on a clutch goal by Richard Young.

The win by Topeka clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

Kevin Patterson had two goals and one assist to lead the RoadRunners. Patterson scored the first of his two goals at 14:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Topeka. Dan Dupell picked up the assist. Patterson's next tally made the score 3-3 with 3:28 left in the third period. Jake Lynes provided the assist.

The defensemen of Topeka were also effective in Texas' zone, and came away with two goals.

Kyle Sharkey also scored for Topeka. Other players who recorded assists for Topeka were James Ring, Ben Bahe, Anders Schultz, and Brian Christie, who contributed one a piece.

The Tornado were led by Jordan Lovick, who racked up three goals. More assists for Texas came via Mychal Monteith, Nick Neville, and Taylor Herndon, who each chipped in one.

Peter Traber made 25 saves for the RoadRunners on 28 shots. Topeka incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Joakim Jutras rejected 14 shots on goal for Texas. The Tornado incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
