Behind a great game by Andrew Doyle, who had two goals, the Stouffville Spirit defeated the Whitby Fury, 2-1. Doyle found the back of the net 6:05 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 11:27 into the second to make the score 2-1 Stouffville.The win by Stouffville broke a deadlock and gave the Spirit a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. Whitby was stymied by Stouffville netminder Jonathan Hall, who stopped 33 shots during the victory. The solid play of Hall will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.31. More assists for Stouffville came via Josh Chapman, Thomas Tsicos, Robert Powers, and Paul Geiger, who contributed one a piece. The Fury's offense rang up 34 shots on the Spirit's net. Whitby was led by Matt Davis, who scored the team's only goal. Davis scored on the power play 2:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. A high sticking penalty on Drake Caggiula had put the Fury on the power play. Devin Shore provided the assist. Stouffville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
