Roubos nets hat trick, leads Wenatchee to 7-1 win over AlaskaMTA Events Center Fri, Apr 13, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Blake Roubos was the highlight in Wild's 7-1 win against the Alaska Avalanche. Roubos notched his first tally 13:55 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:39 into the third and at 14:29 into the third.The Wenatchee Wild evened the best of five series at 2-2 and forced a deciding game five. Alaska's 13 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Avalanche let up six goals while on the penalty kill. Wenatchee made Alaska's goaltenders to work without much rest, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 25 saves. Bodhi Engum made 20 stops and Nick Kulmanovsky made five. The Wild excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Wenatchee also got points from Matt Cope, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ben Carey, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Wenatchee also got a goal from Kyle Huson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wenatchee were Jacob Barber, Parker Johnson, Blake Saylor, and Tyler Rostenkowski, who each chipped in one and Chris Knudson, Shawn Pauly, and Dylan Abood, who contributed two a piece. The Avalanche's offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 10 shots on net during the game. Alaska was led by Wehebe Darge, who scored the team's only goal. Darge scored 11:01 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Alaska. Codey Hansen picked up the assist. Greg Lewis rejected 22 shots on goal for Wenatchee. The Wild incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Avalanche ended with 62 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and two majors. For Alaska, Hansen was ejected from the game.
