Wenatchee falls to Alaska in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Alaska Avalanche pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Wenatchee Wild on a clutch goal by Patrick Kinkopf.

With the win, Alaska evened the series at 1-1 in the best of five showdown.

The Avalanche were sparked by Kinkopf, who racked up one goal. Kinkopf scored 1:33 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Alaska. Brandon Brossoit provided the assist.

Alaska forced Wenatchee goalie Greg Lewis to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Alaska also got a goal from Jeff Bergh as well. More assists for Alaska came via Connor Wright and Wehebe Darge, who each chipped in one.

The Wild's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Alaska power plays.

Wenatchee was led by Chris Kerr, who scored the team's only goal. Kerr scored on the power play 7:17 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wenatchee. The Wild had gotten the advantage when the Avalanche's Darge was sent off for interference. Jerad Tafoya assisted on the tally.

Bodhi Engum made 16 saves for Alaska on 17 shots. The Avalanche incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lewis recorded 30 saves for Wenatchee. The Wild incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
