Fairbanks rolls over Kenai River, 4-0

The Kenai River Brown Bears had trouble finding ways to stop the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, which beat Brown Bears, 4-0.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, Kenai River faces elimination next time out.

Fairbanks was led by Tayler Munson, who registered one goal and one assist. Munson scored 13:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fairbanks. Alec Hajdukovich picked up the assist.

The Ice Dogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kenai River power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Fairbanks also got points from Garret Clemment, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Anton Racklin also scored for Fairbanks. More assists for Fairbanks came via Jakob Romo, who had one and Gabe Levin, who had two.

The Brown Bears relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Brett Lubanski, Chris Blessing and Sean Muller took 14 of the team's 23 shots.

Alex Fons recorded 23 saves for Fairbanks. The Ice Dogs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kenai River's Austin Severson stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Brown Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
