Port Huron beats Michigan 5-2 as Milosek gains shutout

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons used a sparkling performance by Max Milosek to take down the Michigan Warriors, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Port Huron's 5-2 shutout victory.

The win by the Fighting Falcons clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

Port Huron was paced by Mike Moroso, who had one goal. Moroso scored 11:14 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Port Huron. Rick DeRosa picked up the assist.

The Fighting Falcons kept Michigan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brach Tiller made 33 saves on 38 shots.

Port Huron additionally got points from Ian Miller, who also registered one goal and one assist. Port Huron also had goals scored by Nicholas Sierra, who had one and Kody Polin, who had two. More assists for Port Huron came via Bret Lewandowski, Easton Powers, Brett DAndrea, Logan Lemirande, and Alex Archibald, who contributed one a piece.

The Warriors made Port Huron's goaltenders to work in net, firing 32 shots and forcing 30 saves. Milosek made 25 stops and Peter Megariotis made five.

Michigan was led by Michael Economos, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Economos scored 7:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Michigan. Matthew Vermillion assisted on the tally. Michigan also got a goal from Martin Gruse as well. In addition, Michigan received assists from Alec (AJ) White, who had one.

The Fighting Falcons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Warriors incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
