Port Huron boosted by Megariotis' play in net, beats Michigan 3-1Dort Event Center 1 Fri, Apr 13, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Huron Fighting Falcons relied on the sparkling performance of Peter Megariotis in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Michigan Warriors. After the loss made the series score 2-1 in the best of five series, Michigan faces elimination next time out. Port Huron was led by Maxwell Reavis, who tallied one goal. Reavis scored 1:42 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Port Huron. Easton Powers assisted on the tally. The Fighting Falcons forced the Warriors goalie Trevor Gorsuch to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Port Huron also got a goal from Kody Polin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Huron were Jake Goldberg, Logan Lemirande, Nick Horne, and Nicholas Sierra, who each chipped in one. Michigan was led by Daniel Sakalian, who scored the team's only goal. Sakalian scored on the power play 6:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Warriors had gotten the advantage when Port Huron's Ian Miller was sent off for elbowing. Megariotis rejected 26 shots on goal for the Fighting Falcons. Port Huron incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Michigan's Gorsuch stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Warriors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
