Alec (AJ) White was all over the ice for the Michigan Warriors, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Michigan's 5-2 win over the Port Huron Fighting Falcons. White scored 56 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Daniel Sakalian assisted on the tally. White dished an assist on Sakalian's goal that made the score 3-1 Michigan at 12:56 into the second period. He added another helper on Joseph Ferriss' goal that made the score 4-2 Michigan at 7:41 into the third period.The win gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. Michigan's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Port Huron power plays. Michigan also got points from Sakalian, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ferriss, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Michael Economos also scored for Michigan. More assists for Michigan came via Martin Gruse, who had one and Derek Knetter, who had two. The Warriors were unable to stop Port Huron from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fighting Falcons eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Port Huron struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Michigan to score two power play goals on three chances. The Fighting Falcons were helped by Logan Lemirande, who grabbed one goal. Lemirande scored short handed 14:01 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Michigan. A roughing call on Alex Globke put Port Huron on the penalty kill. Port Huron also got a goal from Kody Polin as well. In addition, Port Huron received assists from Jake Goldberg and Max Milosek, who each chipped in one. Trevor Gorsuch recorded 41 saves for the Warriors. Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Max Milosek made 17 saves for the Fighting Falcons on 21 shots. Port Huron incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
