Huge game by Karaim boosts St. Catharines over Port Colborne, 6-2West Side Arena Wed, Apr 04, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Luke Karaim had one goal and three assists to lead the St. Catharines Falcons to a 6-2 victory over the Port Colborne Pirates. Karaim got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 19:58 into the third period to make the score 6-2 St. Catharines. Zach DeConcilys provided the assist.After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Port Colborne faces elimination next time out. In a losing effort, the Pirates were sparked by James Tyminski, who tallied two goals. Tyminski scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. DeConcilys picked up the assist. Tyminski's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 St. Catharines with 13:46 left in the third period. Mitchell Pozsonyi assisted on the tally. St. Catharines forced Port Colborne goalie Real Cormier to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. St. Catharines also got points from Riley Jakobschuk, who also had one goal and one assist, Jesse Miller, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Kenny Bradford, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Andy Sturtz also scored for St. Catharines. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Johnson Andrews, who had two and Andrew Darrigo, Matt Melo, and Aaron Taylor, who each chipped in one. In addition, Port Colborne received assists from Bryan Komasara, who had one. Brad Pope recorded 23 saves for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Pirates' Cormier stopped 33 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Port Colborne incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
