St. Louis rolls over Coulee Region, 5-0

The Coulee Region Chill had trouble finding ways to stop the St. Louis Bandits, which beat Chill, 5-0.

The win gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

The Bandits were led by Joe Kalisz, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kalisz scored 7:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Louis. Greg Johnson provided the assist.

St. Louis' offense rang up 40 shots on Coulee Region's net. The Bandits did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

St. Louis additionally got points from Rance Hughes, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Joseph Birmingham also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from TJ Sherman, Patrick Pollock, Cody Ganchar, and Drew Slaton, who each chipped in one.

The Chill did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Coulee Region relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Jake Useldinger, Chris Hughes and Ben Jaremko took eight of the team's 15 shots.

Tyler Green rejected 15 shots on goal for St. Louis. The Bandits registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. The Chill's Aaron Davis stopped 35 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Coulee Region registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
