Austin survives Alexandria comeback, wins 3-2

The Alexandria Blizzard tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Austin Bruins would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Austin took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have Alexandria storm back on a Dylan Zink goal 17 seconds into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The win by the Bruins clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

Austin was paced by Nolan Kirley, who grabbed one goal. Kirley scored 18:03 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Austin. Trevor Waldoch provided the assist.

Charlie Adams also scored for Austin. Other players who recorded assists for Austin were Jeremy Finger, Jonathan Gehrt, and AJ Reid, who each chipped in one.

The Blizzard kept the Bruins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Bruggeman made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Alexandria also got a goal from Tucker Coborn as well.

Austin incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jacob Meyers made 27 saves for Alexandria on 30 shots. The Blizzard incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
