Stratford squeaks by Brantford, 6-4

The Stratford Cullitons gutted out a close 6-4 win against the Brantford Golden Eagles.

Stratford gained the winning advantage on a goal by Steven Dol 3:32 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

With the win, the Cullitons evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Dol had a great game for Stratford, netting two goals.

The Cullitons forced Golden Eagles' goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 34 shots and forcing 28 saves. Talon DOrazio (APJ) made 24 stops and Bryce O Hagan made four. Stratford's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Tyler Marchand also scored for Stratford. More assists for Stratford came via Andrew Lorimer, Chett Binning, Pat Looby, and Calvin Thomson, who each chipped in one and Ray Huether, Trevor Sauder, and Brock Reynolds, who contributed two a piece.

Brantford's offense rang up 42 shots on the Cullitons' net.

The Golden Eagles were led by Mike Rebry, who racked up two goals and one assist. Rebry scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Stratford. Brantford had gained a power play chance when Marchand was whistled for hooking. Brandon Montour assisted on the tally. Rebry's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Brantford with 11:34 left in the second period. Brantford also got a goal from Tyler Norrie as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Jeff Swift and Brett Appio, who each chipped in one.

Taylor Dupuis made 38 saves for Stratford on 42 shots. The Cullitons incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Golden Eagles incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
