Huntsville blows out Augusta, 6-2

The Huntsville Havoc had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Augusta RiverHawks.

The win by Huntsville clinched the best of three series at 2-1.

Justin Fox was all over the ice for the Havoc, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Fox scored 1:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Colin Reddin provided the assist.

Huntsville made Augusta's goaltenders to work all game long, totaling 37 shots and forcing 31 saves. Peter Skoggard made four stops and Jon Olthuis made 27. Team could not crack the RiverHawks' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Huntsville also got points from Stuart Stefan, who also registered one goal and two assists, Mike MacDonald, who also had one goal and one assist, Ray Ortiz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Reddin, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Dennis Sicard as well. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Jonathan Lafrance and Alex Morton, who contributed two a piece.

Augusta was led by Ed Snetsinger, who took one shot.

Mark Sibbald recorded 25 saves for the Havoc. Huntsville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The RiverHawks totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
