The game between the Columbus Cottonmouths and the Louisiana IceGators was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Columbus emerged with a 4-2 win. The Cottonmouths gained the winning advantage on a goal by Peter MacDougall 2:59 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. After the loss made the series score 0-1 in the best of three series, Louisiana faces elimination next time out. MacDougall had one goal and two assists to lead Columbus. Orrin Hergott also scored for Columbus. In addition, Columbus received assists from Andrew Krelove, who had two and Mitch Wall and Derek Pallardy, who contributed one a piece.
