Tyler Parks recorded a shutout against the Janesville Jets as the Springfield Jr. Blues picked up a 2-0 win. The win gave Springfield a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. The Jr. Blues were paced by Kyle Cook, who finished with one goal. Cook scored short handed 11:33 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Springfield. Springfield found itself down a man on Tyler Rehm's elbowing. The Jr. Blues' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 11 shots on net during the game. Springfield also got a goal from Cody Dixon as well. Other players who recorded assists for Springfield were Kevin Walters and Chris Sitler, who contributed one a piece. Janesville's defensemen bolstered the Jets' offensive attack, as they bombarded Parks with 14 shots. Janesville was led by Jake Horton, who took four shots. Parks recorded 30 saves for Springfield. The Jr. Blues incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tony Kujava made 22 saves for the Jets on 24 shots. Janesville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
