Nepean falls to Pembroke in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Nepean Raiders on a clutch goal by Will Seeber.

The win gave Pembroke a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Lumber Kings were led by Seeber, who grabbed one goal. Seeber scored on the power play 14:05 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Pembroke had gotten the advantage when Nepean's Alex ODea was sent off for hooking. Nathan Siydock assisted on the tally.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Nepean power plays. The Raiders were unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Pembroke additionally got points from Siydock, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jonathan Milley also scored for Pembroke. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Tom Hilbrich, Chris King, Trevor Packard, and Brandon Gagne, who contributed one a piece.

Nepean forced Pembroke goalie Francis Dupuis to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

The Raiders were helped by Brent Norris, who racked up one goal. Norris scored 15:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Nepean. Jamie Olivier picked up the assist. Nepean also got a goal from Ryan Johnston as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Alex Grandmaitre and Michael Vered, who each chipped in one.

Francis Dupuis made 41 saves for the Lumber Kings on 43 shots. Pembroke incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Matt Zawadzki recorded 40 saves for Nepean. The Raiders ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For Nepean, Mac Weegar and Vered were ejected from the contest.
