The Pembroke Lumber Kings pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Nepean Raiders on a clutch goal by Liam Biard. The win gave Pembroke a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Lumber Kings overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Pembroke fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Nepean's Ryan Johnston at 18:29 in the second period. The Lumber Kings tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Zach Loesch at 16:13 in the third period. Pembroke was led by Biard, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Biard scored 19:16 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Brandon Gagne picked up the assist. The Raiders were unable to stop the Lumber Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Pembroke eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Pembroke also got a goal from Justin Stevens as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Swann Boisvert, Justin Pelock, and Jonathan Milley, who contributed one a piece. Nepean excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Raiders' offense rang up 39 shots on the Lumber Kings' net. Nepean was led by Kenneth Neil, who registered one goal and one assist. Neil scored 1:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Vincent Llorca assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Craig Cowie and Alex Grandmaitre, who each chipped in one. Francis Dupuis made 37 saves for Pembroke on 39 shots. The Lumber Kings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Matt Zawadzki recorded 40 saves for the Raiders. Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
