In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Georgetown Raiders escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Stouffville Spirit.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Matt Chiarantano's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

After the loss made the series score 2-3 in the best of seven series, Stouffville faces elimination next time out.

Georgetown was led by Chiarantano, who tallied one goal. Chiarantano scored on the power play 1:21 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Georgetown. The Raiders had gotten the advantage when the Spirit's Brandon Gaudette was sent off for interference. Stephen Genua assisted on the tally.

Georgetown got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Jake Emilio also scored for Georgetown. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Conor McLoughlin, Tyson Fawcett, Brendan Woods, Caleb Apperson, Jacob Bauchman, Ryan Lopes, and Braden Kavaratzis, who contributed one a piece.

Stouffville kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Giugovaz made 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Spirit were helped by Andrew Doyle, who had one goal. Doyle scored on the power play 11:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Stouffville earned a power play opportunity when Nathaniel Domagala was put in the box for holding. Paul Geiger picked up the assist. Stouffville also got a goal from Drake Caggiula as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Chris Porter and Christian Powers, who each chipped in one.

Georgetown incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jonathan Hall recorded 23 saves for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
