Stouffville downs Georgetown in overtime, 7-6 (OT)

Christian Powers gave the Stouffville Spirit a 7-6 (OT) victory over the Georgetown Raiders when he scored 14:06 into the extra period.

The win gave Stouffville a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Powers had a great game for the Spirit, netting two goals.

Stouffville's offense rang up 51 shots on Georgetown's net.

Stouffville also got points from Christian Finch, who also had two goals and one assist and Andrew Doyle, who also registered one goal and one assist. Stouffville also got a goal from Drake Caggiula as well. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Paul Geiger, who had four, Josh Chapman, Matthew Heffernan, Thomas Tsicos, and Robert Powers, who contributed one a piece, and Chris Porter and Alex Botten, who each chipped in two.

The Raiders kept the Spirit's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonathan Hall made 39 saves on 45 shots.

Georgetown was helped by Jacob Bauchman, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Bauchman scored the first of his two goals at 1:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyson Fawcett assisted on the tally. Bauchman's next tally made the score 6-6 with 9:02 left in the third period. Braden Kavaratzis picked up the assist. Connor Brown APM also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Stephen Genua, who had two and Jake Emilio, Manny Gialedakis, and Ryan Lopes, who contributed one a piece.

Stouffville incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Raiders' Michael Giugovaz stopped 44 shots out of the 51 that he faced. Georgetown incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
