Peoria downs St. Louis in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Peoria Mustangs pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the St. Louis Jr. Blues on a clutch goal by Cameron Brown.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, St. Louis faces elimination next time out.

Alexander Turin had two goals to lead Peoria to victory. Turin's tallies came at 7:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and 18:29 into the second to make the score 2-1 Peoria.

The Mustangs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jr. Blues to score on any of their five power plays. Peoria forced St. Louis goalie Mitchell Fernsler to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

More assists for Peoria came via Michael Mikulan, who had two and Nathan Chasteen, Dylan Canoy, and Josh Wentz, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Blues stifled the Mustangs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Louis' offense rang up 52 shots on Peoria's net.

The Jr. Blues were helped by Patrick Gregory, who tallied one goal. Gregory scored 13:28 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Paul OConnor assisted on the tally. St. Louis also got a goal from Daniel Rosse as well. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Johnny Mueller, who had two.

Michael Parda recorded 50 saves for the Mustangs. Peoria incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. St. Louis' Fernsler stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Jr. Blues incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
