Port Colborne holds on for 4-3 win against Niagara Falls

The Niagara Falls Canucks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Port Colborne Pirates would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Port Colborne took a 4-2 lead during the second period, only to have Niagara Falls storm back on a Cam Stewart goal 8:01 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The win by the Pirates clinched the best of seven series at 2-4.

Port Colborne was paced by Mark Lucatra, who registered one goal. Lucatra scored 14:13 into the second period to make the score Port Colborne. Nick Schiro assisted on the tally.

Port Colborne additionally got points from Carson Minor, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Zach DeConcilys also scored for Port Colborne. More assists for Port Colborne came via Dayne Phillips, Jordan Warren, and Bryan Komasara, who contributed one a piece.

The Pirates were unable to stop the Canucks from sending pucks towards the net, and Niagara Falls eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

The Canucks were helped by Grant McLean, who finished with one goal. McLean scored 10:53 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls. Sloan Stewart provided the assist. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Cam McLean as well. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Ben O Quinn and Ryan Wiley, who each chipped in one.

Port Colborne's Real Cormier stopped 42 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Pirates incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cody Vinnai rejected 23 shots on goal for Niagara Falls. The Canucks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
