Stratford completes comeback, beats Elmira, 4-3

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Stratford Cullitons battled back to claim a 4-3 victory over the Elmira Sugar Kings.

Stratford never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Cullitons was down 3-1 after a power play goal by Elmira's Brady Campbell at 17:29 in the second period. Stratford knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Brad McClure at 11:59 in the third period. The Cullitons got the game winner at 15:50 in the third period on a goal by McClure.

The win by Stratford clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

The Cullitons were led by Steven Dol, who had one goal and one assist.

Stratford forced the Sugar Kings goalie Nick Horrigan to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Stratford additionally got points from Brock Reynolds, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Stratford also got a goal from Mike Pleon as well. In addition, Stratford received assists from Ryan Watson, Shane O Brien, Ray Huether, Jordan Currie, and Jared Culliton, who each chipped in one.

Elmira's offense rang up 36 shots on the Cullitons' net.

The Sugar Kings were helped by Andrew Smith, who racked up one goal. Smith scored 16:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Elmira. Scott Nagy also scored for Elmira. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Colton Wolfe-Sabo, Brett Catto, and Lukas Baleshta, who contributed one a piece.

Jesse Raymond made 33 saves for Stratford on 36 shots. The Cullitons incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Horrigan recorded 33 saves for Elmira. The Sugar Kings incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
