St. Marys survives London comeback, wins 3-2

The London Nationals tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the St. Marys Lincolns held on for a 3-2 victory.

St. Marys made the score 3-1 on a goal by Sean Consitt at 17:32 in the second period, and London got as close as 3-2 when Steven Taylor scored 1:43 into the third period.

The win moved the Lincolns to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Consitt had two goals and one assist to lead St. Marys. Consitt scored the first of his two goals short handed at 7:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Marys. The Lincolns were on a disadvantage when Kurtis Lavis went off the ice for cross checking. Brady Wiffen picked up the assist. Consitt's next tally short handed made the score St. Marys with 2:28 left in the second period. Mike Mandarelli provided the assist.

St. Marys also got a goal from Calvin Penney as well.

The Nationals excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. London's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

More assists for London came via Scott Lombardi, Daniel Cameron, Derek Todosichuk, and Aaron Dartch, who each chipped in one.

Craig Wood recorded 23 saves for St. Marys. The Lincolns incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. Taylor Edwards rejected 24 shots on goal for the Nationals. London incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
