North Iowa blows out Twin City, 6-2

The North Iowa Bulls were firing on all cylinders against the Twin City Steel, and when the final buzzer sounded Bulls emerged with a 6-2 win.

The win by North Iowa clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

The Bulls made Steel's goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Brock Vosburgh made four stops and Vladimir Kramar made 22.

North Iowa was led by Nick Marsh, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Marsh scored the first of his two goals at 17:10 into the first period to make the score 3-1 North Iowa. Marsh's next tally made the score 6-1 North Iowa with 11:56 left in the third period. The Bulls had gotten the advantage when Twin City's Kyle Kuntz was sent off for tripping. Andrew Pitts picked up the assist. Alex Carey also scored for North Iowa. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Carson Gray, Patrick Sivets, Matt Kroska, Skylar Harding, and Kevin Loppatto, who contributed one a piece.

The Steel were led by Brandon Busse, who finished with one goal. Busse scored 12:54 into the first period to make the score 2-1 North Iowa. Davis Madren assisted on the tally. Twin City also got a goal from Luke Vogelgesang as well. More assists for Twin City came via Tony Folk, who had one.

Matthew Bartels rejected 22 shots on goal for North Iowa. The Bulls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Twin City incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
