Newmarket blows out Stouffville, 4-1

The Stouffville Spirit had trouble finding ways to stop the Newmarket Hurricanes, which beat Spirit, 4-1.

The win by Newmarket broke a deadlock and gave the Hurricanes a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Newmarket was paced by Adam Davies, who grabbed one goal. Davies scored 15:15 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Newmarket. Morgan Bonner provided the assist.

Newmarket also got points from Jake Weidner, who also had one goal and one assist. Newmarket also got a goal from Tyson LeBlanc as well. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Chris Chiste and Tyler Mort, who contributed one a piece and Phil Grainger and Bowman Webster, who each chipped in two.

Jason Pucciarelli made 23 saves for the Hurricanes on 24 shots. Newmarket incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Stouffville's Knick Dawe stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Spirit incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
