Oakville outlasts Georgetown, 3-2

The Oakville Blades and the Georgetown Raiders were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Oakville made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

The Blades gained the winning advantage on a goal by Tyler Karius 18:49 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

With the win, Oakville evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Blades were led by Karius, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Oakville's offense rang up 35 shots on Georgetown's net.

Oakville additionally got points from Brandon Denham, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Stefan Thompson as well. In addition, Oakville received assists from Kyle Blaney, who had two and Bradley Ryan and Sean Federow, who each chipped in one.

The Blades were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Georgetown eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Raiders were helped by Braden Kavaratzis, who had one goal. Kavaratzis scored 2:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Nathaniel Domagala provided the assist. Ryan Lopes also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Steven Racine, Matt Chiarantano, and Daniel McNamara, who contributed one a piece.

James Prigione recorded 32 saves for Oakville. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Steven Racine made 32 saves for Georgetown on 35 shots. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
