Garay's goals lift Brewster Bulldogs to 5-2 victory over Florida Jr. Blades

Jake Garay had two goals to lead the Brewster Bulldogs Bulldogs to a 5-2 victory over the Florida Jr. Blades Blades.

Garay scored at 8:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brewster Bulldogs and again while 8:46 into the first to make the score 2-0 Brewster Bulldogs.

Florida Jr. Blades' power play was ineffective against Brewster Bulldogs' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Brewster Bulldogs additionally got points from Raymond Boudiette, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brewster Bulldogs also got a goal from Michael Laffin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brewster Bulldogs were Stephen Franze, Angus McLean, Chad Malinowski, and David Landau, who contributed one a piece.

Brewster Bulldogs was unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Florida Jr. Blades eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Blades could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Florida Jr. Blades was helped by DJ Thomas, who tallied one goal. Thomas scored 6:54 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Brewster Bulldogs. Ty Lasker picked up the assist. James Hyatt also scored for Florida Jr. Blades. More assists for Florida Jr. Blades came via Eryn Siracusa and JP Larmoyeux, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs' Zachary Geller stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Brewster Bulldogs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Joseph Keyser made 25 saves for the Blades on 30 shots.
