London wins tough contest against LaSalle, 4-2

The London Nationals gutted out a close 4-2 win against the LaSalle Vipers.

London gained the winning advantage on a goal by Paul Hopkins 13:24 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The win by the Nationals clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

London was led by Hopkins, who tallied one goal.

London additionally got points from Daniel Cameron, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Aaron Dartch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jonathon Sims also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Jake Monaghan, Noah Schwartz, Pieter Schinkelshoek, and Tyler Bryden, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals were unable to stop LaSalle from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vipers eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

LaSalle was helped by Scott Prier, who tallied one goal. Prier scored on the power play 6:30 into the third period to make the score 2-2. The Vipers had taken the advantage when London's Schinkelshoek got sent off for slashing. Ryan Speers assisted on the tally. LaSalle also got a goal from Hunter Smith as well. More assists for LaSalle came via Tim Edwards, who had one.

The Nationals' Taylor Edwards stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. London incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jordan Dekort made 25 saves for LaSalle on 28 shots. The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
