Western Fair CC    Sun, Mar 04, 2012

Ryan Speers gave the LaSalle Vipers a 2-1 (OT) victory over the London Nationals when he scored 1:12 into the extra period.

The win moved LaSalle to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Vipers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

LaSalle was paced by Speers, who tallied one goal.

LaSalle also got a goal from Scott Prier as well. More assists for LaSalle came via Dylan Denomme and Dylan Seguin, who each chipped in one.

London put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Vipers to score on any of their three power plays.

The Nationals were led by Aaron Dartch, who scored the team's only goal. Dartch scored on the power play 18:46 into the second period to make the score 1-1. London earned a power play opportunity when Brad Carroll was put in the box for tripping. Noah Schwartz assisted on the tally.

Jordan Dekort rejected 24 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Nationals' Taylor Edwards stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. London incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
