Hargraves nets hat trick, leads Lambeth to 8-5 win over Exeter

A hat trick by Warren Hargraves was the highlight in Lancers' 8-5 win against the Exeter Hawks.

Hargraves notched his first tally 10:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:38 into the first and at 16:31 into the second.

The win moved the Lambeth Lancers to down 2-0 in the best of seven series.

Lambeth's offense rang up 42 shots on Exeter's net. The Lancers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Lambeth additionally got points from Brandon Robbins, who also racked up two goals and two assists, Mike Golinowski, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Greg Douglas, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lambeth also got a goal from Mitch Thomas as well. More assists for Lambeth came via Conor Chilvers and Anthony Sachetti, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks found themselves short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Exeter was led by Alex Garon, who had two goals. Garon scored the first of his two goals at 6:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Exeter. Trevor Thornton assisted on the tally. Garon's next tally made the score 6-4 Lambeth with 12:16 left in the third period. A high sticking penalty on Alec Cooke had put the Hawks on the power play. John Kingma provided the assist. Kalvin Thornton also scored for Exeter. In addition, Exeter received assists from Matthew Ross, Kyle Craner, Tim Burtch, and Steve Gingerich, who each chipped in one.

JP Trudell recorded 23 saves for Lambeth. Exeter's Aaron Bedard stopped 34 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Hawks registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
