Thamesford holds on for 6-4 win against Mt.Brydges

The Thamesford Trojans survived a determined comeback attempt by the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs on the way to a 6-4 win.

A goal by Mitch Brooks put Thamesford up 6-2 in the second period, but Mt.Brydges pulled to within two on Connor Lovell's tally 12:02 into the third period.

The win by the Trojans clinched the best of seven series at 2-4.

Brandyn Di Domenico had two goals to lead Thamesford to victory. Di Domenico scored at 17:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Thamesford and again while 19:38 into the first to make the score 2-0 Thamesford.

The Bulldogs were unable to stop the Trojans from sending pucks towards the net, and Thamesford eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Thamesford also got points from Adam Levine, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Dylan Black also scored for Thamesford. More assists for Thamesford came via Judson Couture, Ethan Doan, Travis Parkin, Jake Hunter, Andrew McLennan, Stavros Mandrapilias, Paul Grasby, and Kyle Walker, who contributed one a piece.

Mt.Brydges forced the Trojans goalie Chris Walker to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

The Bulldogs were helped by Luke Vanderhulst, who grabbed one goal. Vanderhulst scored 1:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Thamesford. Mt.Brydges additionally got points from Nick Assissi, who also had one goal and one assist. Mt.Brydges also got a goal from Grant Johns as well. In addition, Mt.Brydges received assists from Connor Dunn, Nate Cross, Adam Fletcher, Doug Carter, and Ryan Battersby, who each chipped in one.

Walker recorded 45 saves for Thamesford. The Trojans totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Thamesford, Mandrapilias was ejected from the game. Eric Steinman made 35 saves for Mt.Brydges on 41 shots. The Bulldogs totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Mt.Brydges ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dunn was ejected from the game.
