Thamesford holds on for 6-5 win against Mt.Brydges

The Mt.Brydges Bulldogs tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Thamesford Trojans would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-5.

Thamesford took a 6-4 lead during the third period, only to have Mt.Brydges storm back on a Ryan Battersby goal 19:59 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

With the win, the Trojans evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Brandyn Di Domenico had two goals to lead Thamesford to victory.

Others who scored for Thamesford included Stavros Mandrapilias, who had two and Mitch Brooks and Connor Allison, who each put in one. In addition, Thamesford received assists from Ethan Doan, who had two, Kyle Walker, who had three, and Judson Couture and Andrew McLennan, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulldogs' offense rang up 45 shots on the Trojans' net.

Mt.Brydges was helped by Luke Vanderhulst, who registered three goals. Adam Fletcher also scored for Mt.Brydges. Other players who recorded assists for Mt.Brydges were Connor Dunn, who had two, Spencer Wilson, who had three, and David Wade, Alex Deluce, and Billy Young, who each chipped in one.

Chris Walker made 40 saves for Thamesford on 44 shots. The Trojans incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Eric Steinman recorded 15 saves for the Bulldogs. Mt.Brydges incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
