Stratford rolls over Waterloo, 10-1Allman Arena Fri, Mar 09, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stratford Cullitons had a seven-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-1 win over the Waterloo Siskins. After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Waterloo faces elimination next time out. Pat Looby had a great game for Stratford, netting two goals. Looby found the back of the net 11:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Stratford and again while 4:57 into the second to make the score 5-0 Stratford. The Cullitons made Siskins' goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 58 shots and forcing 48 saves. PJ Bridges made 23 stops and Marc Williams made 25. Stratford was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes. Stratford additionally got points from Tyler Marchand, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Ryan Watson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Trevor Sauder, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Brad McClure, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Brock Reynolds, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Stratford also got a goal from Chett Binning as well. In addition, Stratford received assists from Ray Huether, Jordan Currie, and Mike Pleon, who each chipped in one, Tyson Avery and Andrew Barton, who contributed two a piece, and Steven Dol and Calvin Thomson, who each chipped in three. The Siskins forced the Cullitons goalie Jesse Raymond to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Devon Wagner also scored for Waterloo. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Kyle Wood (SAPM) and Andrew Brubacher, who contributed one a piece. Raymond rejected 38 shots on goal for Stratford. The Cullitons registered four goals on eight power play opportunities. Waterloo incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
