Grimsby downs Glanbrook in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Connor Rilett gave the Grimsby Peach Kings a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Glanbrook Rangers when he scored 39 seconds into the extra period.

The win moved Grimsby to down 1-0 in the best of seven series.

The Peach Kings' penalty kill excelled, as Grimsby gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Peach Kings stifled Glanbrook's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Grimsby kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Sagrott made 37 saves on 41 shots.

The Peach Kings were helped by Arie Dendekker, who racked up one goal and one assist. Dendekker scored 1:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Curtis Jacques picked up the assist. Grimsby additionally got points from Drew Whalen, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Andrew Kolodzey, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Grimsby were Jason McNeil and Robert Wormald, who contributed one a piece.

Glanbrook stifled Grimsby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Peach Kings were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Glanbrook eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

The Rangers were led by David Ferritto, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Ferritto scored 4:00 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Shawn Stringer assisted on the tally. Glanbrook also got a goal from Curtis Edwards as well. More assists for Glanbrook came via Nicolas Kuiper, who had one and Drew Jedrzejewicz, who had two.

Jonathon Dilario made 32 saves for Grimsby on 35 shots. The Peach Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Glanbrook incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. For the Rangers, Matt Susi was ejected from the game.
