Leamington falls to Strathroy in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Brian Brosnan gave the Strathroy Rockets a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Leamington Flyers when he scored 2:32 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 1-3 in the best of seven series, Leamington faces elimination next time out.

Strathroy overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rockets was down 4-2 after a goal by the Flyers' Nick Beaune at 9:07 in the third period. Strathroy tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Justin Thomas at 19:28 in the third period.

The Rockets were led by Brosnan, who grabbed one goal.

Strathroy also got points from Tyler Duarte, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Nick Boyer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Derek Nap also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Jordan McNaughton, who had two and Brent Andriash, Ryan Field, Davis Brown, Greg Milner, and Stuart King, who each chipped in one.

Leamington forced Strathroy goalie Dalen Kuchmey to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Flyers were helped by Tony Spidalieri, who grabbed one goal. Spidalieri scored on the power play 11:11 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Leamington had taken the advantage when the Rockets' Dylan Wilson-Foote got sent off for interference. Jakob Henrikson provided the assist. Leamington additionally got points from Alex Seguin, who also had one goal and one assist. Leamington also got a goal from Nicholas Nicodemo as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Ron Soucie, Brett Babkirk, Jake Hopfner, Tyler Quigley, and Brett Langlois, who contributed one a piece.

Dalen Kuchmey made 36 saves for Strathroy on 40 shots. The Rockets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Colin Greeley recorded 25 saves for the Flyers. Leamington incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
