Greeley stymies Strathroy, Leamington wins 4-1

The Leamington Flyers relied on the sparkling performance of Colin Greeley in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Strathroy Rockets.

With the win, Leamington evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Flyers were led by Tyler Quigley, who tallied one goal and one assist. Quigley scored short handed 17:04 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Leamington. Leamington played down a man on Nicholas Nicodemo's interference.

The Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Leamington's offense rang up 38 shots on Strathroy's net.

Leamington also got a goal from Chris Scott as well. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were Jake Hopfner and Cheyne Matheson, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets stifled the Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Leamington was unable to stop Strathroy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rockets eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Strathroy was led by Davis Brown, who scored the team's only goal. Brown scored short handed 8:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. The Rockets found themselves down a man on Tyler Coleman's tripping. Greg Milner picked up the assist.

Colin Greeley made 33 saves for the Flyers on 34 shots. Leamington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Dalen Kuchmey recorded 34 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
