Sarnia downs Lambton Shores, 5-2

Brent Sauve tallied one point to lead the Sarnia Legionnaires to a 5-2 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

The win by Sarnia clinched the best of seven series at 0-4.

The Legionnaires' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Lambton Shores power plays. Sarnia's offense rang up 31 shots on Lambton Shores' net.

Sarnia additionally got points from Shawn Waldie, who also registered one goal and one assist and Anthony Donati, who also had one goal and one assist. Nathan Mater also scored for Sarnia. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Jesse Drydak, who had one.

The Predators were helped by Adam Arseneault, who racked up one goal and one assist. Arseneault scored 16:41 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores. Corey Pawley provided the assist. Lambton Shores also got points from Brett Thompson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

Kyle Washer recorded 23 saves for the Legionnaires. Sarnia totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the Legionnaires, Thomas Moxley was ejected from the game. Lambton Shores' Brandon Campbell stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Predators ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Lambton Shores ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Rontondi was ejected from the game.
