Sarnia outlasts Lambton Shores, 3-2

The game between the Sarnia Legionnaires and the Lambton Shores Predators was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Sarnia emerged with a 3-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nathan Mater secured the win for the Legionnaires with a goal in the second period.

The win moved Sarnia to down 2-0 in the best of seven series.

Mater was all over the ice for the Legionnaires, as he grabbed two goals in the win.

Sarnia additionally got points from Shawn Waldie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Anthony Donati, who had two and Matt Cimetta, Spencer Bronzi, and Tyler Prong, who each chipped in one.

Lambton Shores was helped by Ryan Rontondi, who tallied one goal. Rontondi scored 2:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Sarnia. Cody Trowell assisted on the tally. Brett Thompson also scored for Lambton Shores. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Trevor Ladd, Tanner Ferguson, and Corey Pawley, who contributed one a piece.

Kyle Washer recorded 23 saves for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Predators' Brandon Campbell stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Lambton Shores incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
